How each app's data is kept apart
Every app published on Micronuage keeps its data in a space of its own. No other customer, no other app and not even the AI reads those records.
What is protected
When a project keeps information (sign-ups, orders, tasks and the accounts of the app's users), that data lives in a database separate from the one Micronuage uses for accounts, projects and billing. This article explains how that separation works, in plain words.
How the separation works
- One space per app. Each app has its own compartment in the database, with its own tables, and its own database user. The compartments get random names that don't reveal whose project they belong to.
- Access locked to the app. Every read and write happens inside that app's space, with a database user that has no permission on any other. Even a faulty query can't reach another customer's data: the database itself refuses it.
- Passwords stored irreversibly. App users' passwords never appear in the Database tab or in SQL query.
- Deletions you can undo. Deleted records stay in the Trash for 30 days before they are gone for good.
The AI and your data
The AI that builds and changes your project works with the structure of the data (table, field and role names) and never with the records. It doesn't read sign-ups, orders or app user accounts, nor data from other projects. The part of the system that talks to the AI has no access to the apps' databases, and an automated test in our code fails if anyone tries to change that.
Note.Whatever you type or attach in the chat, the AI reads, because you sent it. Avoid pasting customers' personal data when the request doesn't need it.
SQL query has locks too
SQL query in the Database tab has four independent locks: it only accepts a SELECT on the project's tables; before running, the database checks which tables the query will read and blocks any other; the query runs in a read-only transaction; and it uses the app's own database user, with a time and row limit.
What about the rest of your account
- Form leads live in Micronuage's database, tied to the project, and only your workspace members see them in Leads.
- Integrations are restricted to your workspace. Each connection is yours and can be revoked at any time in Integrations.
- Code versions and data are separate things: restoring a version neither deletes nor brings back records.
Frequently asked questions
Can another Micronuage customer see my app's data?
No. Each app runs with a database user that only has permission on its own space, and the database refuses any attempt to read another.
Do two of my apps share data?
No. Each app has its own space, even within the same workspace. Users and records from one don't show up in the other.
Can my app's users see each other's data?
It depends on each role's permissions, defined in the app's data model. Administrators see everything. Other roles can see all records in a table, only their own, or none. Ask the AI to adjust it.
Can the AI delete my data when it changes the project?
The AI changes the structure, not the records. When the database is updated, Micronuage adds tables and fields but doesn't drop columns that already hold data.
