How to ask the AI well

Clear requests get better results and use fewer credits: say what you want, where and how, and make one change at a time.

How the AI works on your project

You describe what you want in the project chat. In Build mode, the AI makes the change, checks that everything works and saves a new version, which shows in the preview. In Plan mode, an architect writes the project plan alongside and doesn't touch the code until you ask it to build. Every request uses credits; see AI credits.

Be specific

The AI gets it right more often when it knows what, where and how. Compare a vague request with a specific one:

Make the site better. On the home page, change the title to “Accounting for small businesses in Austin” and make the main button dark green.
Add a form.On the Contact page, add a form with name, phone, e-mail and message, and a line saying we reply within one business day.
Make it more modern.Add more space between sections, use sans-serif fonts and a larger photo at the top. Keep the current colors.
Fix the footer. In the footer, show the address, phone number, opening hours and links to Instagram and LinkedIn.

One change at a time

  • Ask for one thing per message, check it in the preview and only then move on. It's easier to see what changed and undo it if needed.
  • Requests that bundle several features (sign-in, a database, dashboards, payments), rebuild the site or change every page count as large: they take 8 to 20 minutes and use 10 credits. The chat tells you and asks you to confirm first.
  • If you don't have enough credits for a large request, the chat suggests smaller parts. Click Use this request to send one of them.

Show what you mean

  • Images: paste (Ctrl+V), drop or attach up to 4 images per request, up to 5 MB each, in PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or SVG. They serve as a reference for layout, colors or content and are used in Build mode.
  • Text files: attach a brief as .txt or .md, a table as .csv or any other text with the site's real content.
  • Part of the code: in the Code tab, select lines to focus the request on them.
  • In the visual editor: use Select elements (S) to pick the block you want to change, or Attach a screenshot to the chat.

Each way of attaching is covered in Add context.

Plan before big changes

  1. Switch the chat to Plan

The architect talks the project through and writes the plan in the Plan tab, without touching the code. Each request to the architect uses 1 credit.

  2. Refine the plan until it's right

Ask it to add, remove or detail pages, data and rules. Every edit creates a new version of the plan.

  3. Generate the tasks and build from the board

Generate tasks breaks the plan into tasks. On each one, Send to chat asks for it to be built. To build it all at once, use Build the whole plan.

  4. Follow the tasks

Each built task goes through an automatic check and moves to Done, or back to To do with the reason.

Say what must not change

When a change is delicate, also say what should stay as it is, for example “keep the header, the colors and the current copy”. And give real information about your business, such as services, prices and hours, instead of letting the AI fill in examples.

Tip.Went the wrong way? In a code project, type “go back to version 3” in the chat: it offers the restore button, at no cost. Or open History and use Restore.

Which language can I write in?

Write the way you would talk to someone on your team. The chat accepts requests in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Does asking a question use credits?

In a code project, a request that only answers, without changing anything, uses 1 credit. In Plan mode, each request to the architect also uses 1 credit.

The AI didn't do what I asked. Now what?

Undo it with Undo this change or restore the previous version, then ask again with more detail: where it is, how it should look and what must not change. See When something goes wrong.

How much should I write in a request?

Enough to say what, where and how. A very long text with many features counts as a large request; in that case, start in Plan mode.
