Start from a template
Templates are your project's foundation: pages, sections and a style designed for an industry. Pick the closest one; the AI adapts the content to your business.
What a template is
A template is a complete sample website for one kind of business, such as a clinic, a restaurant, an office or a shop. It comes with pages, sections, sample copy and a visual style. You don't need the perfect template: pick the closest one and adjust the rest.
The template is only the starting point. Once created, the project is yours: later changes to the template don't affect your site.
Where to find templates
- On the website, the template gallery shows them all, grouped by category.
- In your account, under Templates in the sidebar and in the Templates tab on the Dashboard.
- Preview opens a demo of the template before you decide.
- Templates marked Coming soon can't be used yet.
Use a template
Open Templates in the sidebar
Or go straight to the gallery in your account.
Click Preview if you want to look inside first
Click Use template
The button shows Creating project… and the editor opens right after.
Replace the sample content with yours
In the editor, or by asking the AI in the chat.
Important.A project created straight from a template, without a description, starts with sample content: made-up names, contacts and copy. Review everything before you publish.
Start by describing your business
In the box on the Dashboard, describe your business in a few lines: the name, what you sell, the city, the tone. Micronuage decides where to start:
- If the description clearly names one kind of business, the project starts from that template.
- If several are close, How should we start? appears, with the closest templates (Start from this template) and the option Create from what I wrote.
- A written specification (a long text describing pages, sections and rules) or a description of a system with users and data is built as written.
How the AI adapts the template
The details you wrote, such as name, contacts, city and services, go onto the site, and the AI rewrites the template's copy to talk about your business instead of the sample one. This first adaptation uses no credits. The project's name and address follow the business name shown on the site.
In code projects, when the template was written for another kind of business or your description has requirements of its own (pages, prices, words to avoid), the AI does the adaptation as the chat's first request. That request uses credits like any other and, if it is large, asks you to confirm first.
Good to know
- Every project created from a template counts toward your plan's project limit. See Projects.
- On the Free plan, building a whole site from a written specification is possible once a month.
- A clear description helps: see Write good prompts.
Frequently asked questions
Can I switch templates after creating the project?
There is no option to change an existing project's template. Ask the AI for the changes in the chat, or create a new project from another template.
I couldn't find a template for my industry.
Describe your business on the Dashboard anyway: Micronuage starts from the closest structure and adapts the copy. If you'd rather get the site done for you, see Site in 48 h.
Does using a template cost credits?
Creating the project uses no credits. Credits are used when the AI works in the chat, including when the editor opens with a first request already sent to finish adapting the site.
